The need for IT teams to integrate disparate data sources has come into sharp focus, with a report by Alcatel-Lucent stating that 81 per cent of knowledge workers struggle to access the information they need to work effectively.
50 per cent of professionals in the UK and Ireland surveyed believe they waste 30 minutes each day looking for data which is vital for them to perform effectively. Over half of those questioned complained that network or application failure blighted them at least once a week and more than 70 per cent state that conference calling is not the solution to their communication problems.
