IT professionals say that businesses are unwilling to invest money in their training for fear they will take the skills acquired and move to a competitor.
That’s the opinion of the ServiceDesk360.com readers who have responded to a training research programme we are running alongside Practice IT. The survey, which is still open, shows that 53 per cent of IT staff haven’t received any training for more than a year, with 47 per cent stating that cost is the main reason why no development has taken place. So far, 67 per cent agree that businesses are reluctant to offer training for fears that recipients will quit their jobs.
Whether you agree with these early findings or not, there is still time to make yourself heard. Click here for the survey, no registration is required and it will take just a few minutes to complete.
