Microsoft to offer free anti-virus software
“We pledge to protect you from us”. Vulnerabilities in Windows to be addressed by maker of Windows.
The software, called Morro, is currently being trialed and is due for imminent release. Â It is pitched against other free anti-virus software from companies such as AVG and Alwil, and lacks features such as parental controls which are part of paid-for offerings from the likes of Symantec and McAfee. Morro will however protect against spyware, rootkits and Trojans as well as the viruses which often blight the Windows experience.
