Cherwell Software is celebrating a successful coup, having acquired the services of ICCM’s co-founder Simon Kent in a move set to ‘raise a few eyebrows in the industry’. Kent, a 24 year veteran of the service management industry, joins Cherwell as head of technical services EMEA, a year after leaving ICCM, the company which he co-founded..  Kent left ICCM for personal reasons and following a break from the industry, sought employment from a company which he believes has the best mix of experienced people and leading edge technology.

Tony Probert, Cherwell Software’s European managing director said that Kent’s arrival means a ‘huge amount’ to the business.  ”His knowledge of products and the industry is massive for us.  I know Simon from my days at Bendata and the fact that he approached Cherwell speaks volumes for the quality of the product and the people behind it.”

Kent will develop Cherwell’s technical services strategy, with the aim of supporting the direct and channel sales.

Cherwell has a ‘superb future’ according to Kent, because of the quality of service it offers to customers, underpinned by a ‘sensational product’.  “A primary focus of my role will be to supplement and enhance standards of service delivery and to harmonise strategy with the US, where Cherwell is headquartered.  I am thrilled to be working alongside some of the greatest minds in the industry and a team of such high quality people where customer service stands as the number one business goal.”
