Recognition of the increasing number of devices running Apple iOS in the workplace has led Bomgar to release a remote support suite to assist in the management of iPhone and iPad.
iOS Customer Client enables support desk staff to screen share to assist in diagnostics and troubleshooting, as well as sharing and updating of issue progression, all through the devices themselves. The module also supports chat sessions with the end user to help resolve problems without the need for mobile users to return to the office.
Although unpopular with many service desks more comfortable supporting Windows-derived technologies, Bomgar VP Troy Harrison says companies could no longer ignore the impact of Apple in business. “Whether they’re personally or company owned these devices are ending up in the workplace, spurring more and more calls to the help desk for iOS support.”
