Dedicated workers off sick unable to work because of faulty tech

Workers in the UK are a committed bunch, with the vast majority attempting to stay in contact with the office when off sick, however almost 70 per cent find themselves unable to work effectively when ill due to technical issues with devices.

A study from Bomgar found that absenteeism rises at the start of the year because of coughs and colds, yet businesses which invest in mobile devices and allow remote connection to their corporate network could ensure that sick pay is not wasted.

“Being sick is bad enough, but trying to get some work done anyway and having to deal with equipment that isn’t working properly is terrible.  It’s important that workplaces have the right level of technology to support their employees, allowing them to focus on getting better,” says Bomgar general manager Stuart Facey.
