The Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) is requesting tenders from IT companies to assist in creating a shared service which will unite its eight forces.

SPSA is looking for a scalable solution, which will integrate with both existing and new national police IT systems. The winner of the tendering process is expected to develop a “common end-to-end policing process” to be used by all services.

The authority provides a number of support services to the police, with 8000 officers receiving IT training annually.
